2. Their main sub-genres are rock/indie. They appeal mostly to mainstream audiences. This is to maximise their profits because more people will be interested in them so they are more likely to buy them.

NME appeals to a mainstream audience, around the ages 16-24, both male and female audience

NME also have a TV channel, an awards show, website, NME clubs, radio station and NME Tour, these all work together to promote each other - this process is called synergy.
Uncut - £4.30 per issue.
Uncut magazine appeals to a niche audience and appeals more to men than women.
Guitar and Bass - £3.95 per issue.
Guitar and Bass appeals to a niche audience of guitar/bass players. Its target audience is 75:25 male:female.
